Star Wars: Rogue One figures – Wave 4 by Hasbro

Wave 4 of the Rogue One series started trickling out in May of this year.  Unfortunately, many collectors have had a hard time finding this wave in the US AND in Canada. I must be one of the lucky ones because I found the rarest one on a peg. With Force Friday coming on September 1st, releasing more Star Wars products out in the wild right now isn’t probably the best idea for Hasbro. Not only that, retailers are clearing out old Rogue One and The Force Awakens products at low prices in order to make way for fresh new stuff in a month and a half.

I can see why many retailers weren’t stocking this wave – they didn’t want to sit on more inventory. Perhaps with Hasbro knowing this, they didn’t make as many of the figures in this wave.  I have no idea how it works but according for forums and Facebook groups, people are having a damn hard time finding some of these guys.  Here’s my look at the last wave with a little bonus figure at the end. Warning – I’m a MOC collector for these because it’s easy for me to display them this way.

Lieutenant Selfa

I don’t know too much about this guy and he’s probably in one of those “blink and you’ll miss him” scenes.  If he does have speaking parts, I can’t remember them and I’ve seen the movie a few times (damn, I own it!).  Anyway, he’s got some decent texturing on his outfit and a variety of paint apps on it and the helmet.  He’s a pretty decent figure!

Galen Erso

Speaking of owning the movie and watching it a few times, when I was doing my quick video (I had 10 minutes of free time!), I couldn’t remember the correct pronunciation of “Galen.” Oh well, I’m sure you’ll all forgive me.

This figure is a welcome addition to the Rogue One line because after all, he’s Jyn’s father.  I just wish the likeness was a little bit more on point on this figure. I know it’s only a 3 3/4″ figure, but they can do better. Bonus points for the mouse droid.

Admiral Raddus

It may be funny to some but if I could have only found or purchased one figure from this wave, it would have been Admiral Raddus. Why? He’s a damn Mon Calamari, that’s why!! I love the Admiral Ackbar character and this race of Squid-like creatures. I say make a whole crew of these guys. I’d buy em! The sculpt on this figure’s head is also my favourite out of the whole wave.

Fenn Rau

I admitted it in my video and I’ll do the same here: I have yet to watch Star Wars: Rebels.  The majority of the characters I’ve been introduced to by completing these waves of figures.  I will get to the show in August and binge watch it.  Many people have said that I would quite enjoy it so I’ll be a, excuse the pun, trooper and do it!

This figure does seem a little cartoony to me.  There’s something about the face sculpt that reminds me of Howdy Doody or some other goofy character.

Imperial AT-ACT Drive – Star Wars Black Series

This is my little bonus figure for this feature.  I recently scored him a couple of days ago when I was browsing in Toys R Us.  I didn’t know that our Canadian stores was getting him and I thought he was only going to be a US Target store exclusive.  I don’t care the logistics of it all – I’m just happy that he was available to purchase.  Now I just have to hunt down the US Walmart Scarif Trooper I’m missing.

I love the design of this Trooper and it looks like Hot Toys has announced at SDCC a similar looking sixth scale figure that will be coming out.  You’ve seen all the Troopers I’ve collected so far so you know I’ll be snagging that figure.

Enjoy the video!
