WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs 2016 Predictions (with some Raw and Smackdown Thoughts)

Hey, everyone! I’m combining my predictions with my thoughts on WWE Raw and Smackdown this week as I can discuss the Smackdown go-home show leading into the TLC PPV in the match previews.

Just to start off, here are a few jot notes for Raw:

-I don’t want Reigns in the title picture in the next PPV, but Vince McMahon and co. are still hell bent on shoving him down our throats as THE babyface on Raw. It just makes me want to change the channel. Having Owens lose to him opens up the title match between these two but I don’t like Owens getting pinned. He’s been booked as a weak champion, just like Rollins before him.

– I loved the Paul Heyman promo about Brock Lesnar and his loss at Survivor Series. It was passionate and really set up the next encounter at the Royal Rumble between these two. It also foreshadowed that Brock was coming back more aggressive than ever. Well done!

-Once again, I don’t feel the heat against Rusev. Enzo and Cass are the bullies here insulting a man’s wife – just like what happened with the Roman Reigns feud – and Rusev is standing up for her honour. Move on from this, WWE Creative.

-While Sasha Banks and Charlotte had another kick ass match on Raw (probably one of the best they’ve had), I’m still not sure playing hot potato with the Raw Women’s Championship is the best thing. I think that Charlotte should have held it until Wrestlemania to show her dominance to set up a worthwhile contender finally stepping up to take it from her. Now I just think that Nia Jax will be the next feuding for the belt while Charlotte will feud with Bayley.

-I also don’t get Ric Flair coming out at the end as he’s screwed with Bank’s matches with Charlotte during the year. Sometimes it’s like WWE Creative doesn’t watch or remember its own programming.

TLC Predictions

On paper, this is a REALLY strong card and one that I’m REALLY looking forward to watching. We’ve seen many of these competitors in matches with each other before and this PPV seems that it will be the one to end the feuds for these wrestlers to reset story lines to head into the holiday season (where the shows are usually phoned in) to reset after New Years to head to the Royal Rumble.

Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin  (Chairs Match)

You know, I’m excited to watch this. While I think they’ve let the feud breathe enough and both men want revenge on each other, this should be the finale. I’m not sure where Kalisto will go after this, but Corbin should be put into a high profile feud with someone to elevate his character and time on TV. With this match being a “chairs” match, it allows the crowd to believe that Kalisto has a way to even the odds of winning, but I don’t see it happening. Winner: Baron Corbin

Heath Slater & Rhyno  (Champs)  vs. Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton

Source: WWE.com

With Wyatt and Orton getting the win for Team Smackdown at the Survivor Series, this one is easy to predict. Slater has been stagnant really since winning the belts with Rhyno and they haven’t really even been a focus of the show. Wyatt and Orton have been a focus and WWE seems to be building the “NEW” Wyatt Family up and there’s no better way to elevate them more than putting championship gold around their waists. Winners: Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella (No DQ Match)

Source: WWE.com

If this match didn’t happen already with Nikki already getting the win, I would care more but they gave this match away on TV already. While I do like Carmella’s jabs at Nikki, we’ve heard the same stuff from her over the past two months. It’s time for these two to move on after this PPV. Perhaps we’ll find out that Natalya was the one that took Nikki out before the Survivor Series match with Natalya interfering and allowing Carmella to get the win. Yeah – that’s what will happen as a no DQ gives Nikki a way out from the loss. Winner: Carmella

The Miz  (Champ)  vs. Dolph Ziggler
(Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship)

With all the flip-flopping of this belt and the Raw Women’s Championship, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Ziggler wins this match. I’m betting that these two will be pulling out all the stops for this to be the match of the night and they may succeed. While The Miz has had the Spirit Squad and Maryse interfere with his matches lately to help him win, I just want to see a straight match with the best man winning. Unfortunately, I can see people getting involved again in this one. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Becky Lynch (Champ)  vs. Alexa Bliss
(Tables Match for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship)

Source: WWE.com

We got the first ever female Hell in a Cell match a few weeks back and now we’re getting the first WWE women’s tables match. Alexa Bliss has been getting better on the mic, but during their contract signing I wasn’t a fan of their banter. WWE tries so hard to stay PG that the lines they write for these ladies in the form of insults is nothing but toddler school yard trash talk. There’s no way grown women would insult each other like that – or respond so heavily to such dribble. At least Lynch can back it up in the ring. Unless Bliss gets some kind of interference, I just don’t see her winning here as I think she’s still just too green to hold a major championship. If she does, the feud continues, but I think it’s also time to hit the reset button and get these girls to be feuding with others. Winner: Becky Lynch

AJ Styles (Champ)  vs. Dean Ambrose
(Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the WWE Championship)

Source: WWE.com

Right off the bat you know James Ellsworth will be involved and probably take a good bump. With him being so new to the roster and WWE trying to sell his merch there’s no way he’s going to turn heel and help AJ Styles. Mind you, Ellsworth DID say on Smackdown that he’s beaten AJ Styles three times already and he could maybe do it again, so does something happen?!?

I want the focus off Ellsworth and I want the goofy Ambrose character gone and until we see a strong, aggressive and relentless Ambrose back, I don’t see him carrying the belt. Styles is just too over to lose the belt and I see him being the champ at least up until Wrestlemania. It’s time for Ambrose to move to the IC Championship picture and Styles to feud with someone else. Could we see The Undertaker come out at the end of this match to foreshadow a match between him and AJ Styles? I sure hope so! Winner: AJ Styles
