Electrified Porcupine’s New Music (CD & Vinyl) Showcase Vol. 2 -Sponsored by Mad Rush Media

It’s been a while since I’ve done a music feature, so I’m going to try and really get on this weekly, twice a week or at least bi-weekly. Without the jibber-jabber, here are some releases on vinyl I’ve picked up over the last month.

Anthrax – Worship Music (Megaforce Records, 2011 – this edition ltd to 500 copies)

This was the return of the classic-era singer, Joey Belladonna. I’ve been an Anthrax fan ever since I heard them and I really liked hearing Joey rock it on the album. I said in my video that I still think that Sound of White Noise is the best thing they ever did, but whatever, that’s my opinion. Send hate email to idontgiveafuck@fuckyou.com

All Pigs Must Die – God Is War (Southern Lord, 2011 – this edition ltd to 500)

An amazing grind band that I discovered with their last release Nothing Violates This Nature. I had to go back to grab this on CD and of course, snag this on vinyl. You should, too!

Band of Skulls – By Default (BMG, 2016)

Yes, they’re not metal and I allowed to listen to things that aren’t metal! HA!

Dark is the Season/The Grotesque (Cosmic Key Creations, 2016 – Ltd to 400 copies)

This album features the Dark Is The Season EP (1992) and the The Grotesque / Ashen Epitaph EP (1994), both originally on Nuclear Blast.

Bloodbath – The Wacken Carnage (Peaceville, 2008/2016)

This is a fantastic live album and if you get the chance to see the concert DVD (and for the album below), do yourself a favour and get a copy!

Bloodbath – Bloodbath Over Bloodstock (Peaceville, 2011/2016)

Not much else to say but this is another excellent live album by Bloodbath.

Cradle of Filth – Bitter Suites to Succubi (AbraCadaver, 2001/Peaceville, 2016)

This was the tour I saw Cradle of Filth on in Toronto with my buds. It was awesome and we were the only people who showed up in corpsepaint. Anyway, I love this EP as they have some great originals on it (“Born in a Burial Gown”) and I love the rerecording of “The Principle of Evil Made Flesh.”

Cradle of Filth – Eleven Burial Masses (Peaceville, 2007/2016)

This album combines the audio originally released on the Live Bait for the Dead CD and the matching video that was originally on the Heavy Left-Handed and Candid DVD release.

And here’s the video featuring myself, with records and beer. Enjoy!
