Friday the 13th & A Nightmare on Elm Street Killer Trivia Game!
I think that those who are now following the site and those who know me personally know I love the Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street franchises. This game came out in 2005 and featured questions from both franchises! The game features over 1000 questions from all the movies in both franchises. That can be pretty daunting if you’re trying to remember all the names of characters. I’m way better with character names from the NOES movies than Friday the 13th.
The cool thing about this game is that you could play just trivia from the Friday the 13th movies or ones from A Nightmare on Elm Street. If you want, you can mix the cards how you want. Even as a bonus, there are questions that are based on the AMAZING Freddy vs. Jason film (haters can fuck off, I loved it).
To win the game, you have to accumulate a score of 50 “bodies” on your scorecard. To gain points, you roll the body die (how’s that for a pun? I guess it could be a “di”) to indicate the level of difficulty of the question you’ll be answering. One body means you’re getting an easy question where, five bodies means you’ve got a pretty tough question ahead of you. On the di (die) there is a side that prompts you to take a card from the Freddy vs. Jason movie. If you get that side then you roll again to determine the question level. Of course, if you don’t want to use those cards, you don’t have to.
Another cool part of the game besides the questions on the card is the “Coroner’s Report” trivia. I suppose that you don’t have to use these either if you don’t want, but the basics of scoring on these cards are as follows: you read the profile of the character and you have to remember how they met their fate. You gain points if you mention any of the words in bold on the back of the card. I think it’s a fantastic idea, but you can take these out of the deck if you’d like as well.

For horror fans of both films (or even just one) this is fantastic and a great gift. I have no clue if they ever re-released this but from what I’ve just seen (as of the time of writing this), you can get it from Ebay for about $35US. I think I’ll be bringing this game out of retirement this summer with some buds who are casual fans to see if anyone can get to 50 points before they fall on their asses due to tasty beverages.
On a side note: today’s article being posted on Father’s Day is dedicated to the great dads out there. It’s also being dedicated to my sister and brother-in-law’s dog, Winnie Goobers, who suddenly passed this AM. RIP Goober Doobers.
